About us

The founders

“The ocean asked us to”

Matías first went diving at eight and is now a Divemaster. Eduardo left the office to live outdoors. They've run DIP from San José del Cabo since 2023: three years, 800+ expeditions and 4,000+ explorers.

Why DIP

Ocean first. Always.

Most boats in Cabo measure success by how close they get to the wildlife. We measure it by what we leave behind.

Small groupsEight guests max on day trips and six on multi-day expeditions. The wildlife feels the difference, and so will you.
Founder-ledEduardo and Matías lead every trip. No sales team, no fleet.
Our Ocean FirstWe leave every reef and feeding ground better than we found it. No exceptions.

We cruise the East Cape looking for pelagic wildlife. When we find it, the guide goes in first and you follow at your own pace: dolphins, mobulas, sea lions and, with luck, orcas. On the way back we have lunch near the coast and relax in the sun.

FAQ

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

You should feel comfortable swimming in open water with snorkel gear. Your guide walks you through everything before you get in.

What if we don't see wildlife?

It's the open ocean and the animals are wild: we don't guarantee the suggested sightings and there's no refund if we don't see them. We put all our experience into finding them.

What if the sea is rough?

If the sea is rough or there's a major natural event, we don't go out and you get a 100% refund (or a new date, if you prefer).

Can I book it privately?

Yes. Choose “Book privately” or message us on WhatsApp or by email (contact@dipexpeditions.com).

How do you protect the animals?

Through Our Ocean First: small groups, respectful distance, and leaving every place better than we found it.
